Winter storage at Marina Volendam
Storage on hard surface
Winter 2023/2024 we started winter storage on the yard site at Marina Volendam (Strandweg 2). In winter storage we have room for approximately 120 boats. The boats will be stored on the hard paved terrain. With the mast crane we can safely hoist and lower the mast if this is necessary for winter storage. Storage of the mast in the mast rack is also possible.
Are you considering having the rigging replaced by our riggers? Then have the mast lowered in Monnickendam. Here we can work on the mast indoors. Setting and trimming also takes place in Monnickendam.
Book winter storage
When you fill in the reservation form completely and send it/email it to info@waterlandyacht.nl, we will schedule the crane appointment. We crane during the week from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday up to and including week 46. We crane yachts with a draft of up to 2 meters. Winter storage is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Winter storage can be booked from July 1, confirmation will follow after July 15.
When the mast needs to be craned, this will be done during the hoisting appointment, so make sure the mast is prepared for lowering (sails off, boom off, tensioners loosened). The jet wash is done on the crane track by a Waterland employee and is included in the price.
Payment of the winter storage takes place in two installments: the first installment upon confirmation and the second installment 1 week before the crane date. When the bill is not paid, there is no (re)launch.
The system is: last out, first in. Lift out late in November? Then you also have to be the first to be ready to go into the water.
Maintenance
When maintenance is required on the ship, this can be carried out by the companies known to us (Jachtservice de Waterman, Robie Nautical, Halver Sails). You can contact them yourself or fill in the service form on our website and Waterland will take care of the works. Have you found another company for maintenance? Report this to us and have the company come by to complete the RI&E form. This way you are not liable in case of damage.

Tips for winter preparation
Winter storage differs from summer storage. The boat must be well prepared so that no damage occurs in the winter. Think of removing the sails, the cushions from the boat, preparing the engine and drinking water system for winter.
